Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can you start my project in Toronto & GTA?

Start times depend on project scope and permits. Interior renovations (no permit) can begin within a short timeframe after contract signing. Major renovations require 6-8 weeks for design and permit preparation, plus city review time of a few weeks to 2+ months. New custom homes require 2-6 weeks for design and 6-8 weeks for permits before construction begins.

How do you choose a reliable renovation contractor?

When choosing a reliable renovation contractor in the GTA, homeowners should verify valid licensing, confirm at least $5M in general liability insurance, check WSIB compliance, and ask for a detailed project management process. A reputable contractor will always provide a transparent, written contract before starting work.

Do you provide free estimates and consultations?

Yes! We provide free initial consultations and ballpark estimates. For detailed quotes, we conduct an on-site assessment to ensure accuracy and prevent hidden surprises.

What areas do you serve in the GTA?

We serve all of Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area including Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Markham, North York, Aurora, King City, Thornhill, Mississauga, Oakville, and Etobicoke.

Are you insured and WSIB-compliant in Ontario?

Yes. AVL Custom Homes is insured, with $5M general liability coverage and WSIB compliance. All work complies with the Ontario Building Code.

Do you offer financing options for renovations?

Yes! We partner with Financeit to offer flexible financing up to $100,000 for renovation and custom home projects with competitive rates and flexible payment terms.
